Independent Living
Chosen Valley Apartments opened in 1990 with 15 independent living units for seniors in the Chatfield area. All apartments are located on the ground level, including 13 one bedroom, 2 two bedroom, and one apartment that is of handicap design. Apartments are rented on a monthly basis at a standard non-subsidized amount. However, individuals may apply for rental assistance through county programs. Each tenant pays their own utilities (electricity, telephone and cable for TV).
Building security is provided through a locked front door. An intercom system in each apartment allows communication with visitors and the front door may then be unlocked from within the apartment.
Chosen Valley Apartment amenities include the following:
- Spacious 650 and 850 square feet apartments
- Access to an enclosed sunroom and outdoor garden and gazebo area
- Apartment features include electric heating, kitchens with electric stoves and refrigerators, air conditioning, sink disposals and walk-in showers
- Connected to the Care Center
- Opportunities for a variety of social activities and programs
- Individual locked mailboxes
Included in the Monthly Rental Fee:
- A nutritious noon meal served daily in the apartment dining room
- Priority admission to the Care Center and Assisted Living Apartments
- Emergency call cord system
- Assigned/reserved parking space
- Garbage/trash disposal
- Water and sewer service
- Scheduled social, recreational and educational programs
